COOL, CALM & COLLECTED with HIM in NEW WEST

Anxiety got you up all night? Stressed out? Worried about the future?

In a world full of dating apps, hooking-up, stigma and shame, gay guys have plenty to worry about. For some, anxiety is a sense of apprehension or fear that can lead to repetitive and intrusive thoughts, and difficulty making decisions. For others, it’s an overwhelming sense of panic brought on by many sources of stress. Everyone’s experience with anxiety is different, but don’t worry…. HIM is here for you!

Our experts in mental health have designed a series of workshops designed and customized for gay/bi guys and other guys who have sex with guys.  In this four-week experience, we will explore what anxiety means and unpack how to manage it, and take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Dates & Topics:

  • May 3 – What is Anxiety? Let our experts walk you through an introduction of the roots, causes and trends related to anxiety, and anxiety related conditions.
  • May 10 – Sex, Stigma & Anxiety: Learn about how society views anxiety and how it is fuelled by stress, oppression and harmful stigma.
  •  May 17 – Self Care and Anxiety Management: The research is in, and self care works! Learn how to increase resilience to stress and anxiety.
  • May 24 – Mindfulness for Anxiety: Heard about neuroplasticity?  Come and try out mindfulness as a way to change your brain, and decrease anxiety.

These are workshops are open, so participants are welcome to attend any, or all, sessions.
