Our first Running clinic in conjunction with Vancouver Frontrunners ended last week with a celebration brunch on the waterfront.
The group was designed for beginner runners to learn how to run longer distances safely and with minimum effort. A big thank you goes out to certified trainer Dominic Turgeon who led the group each and every Sunday, rain or shine. Most of the participants went on to join the Vancouver Frontrunners (Vancouver’s LGBT running club since 1983) who meet to run (and walk) every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. We had a great turnout especially as the spring weather was not always the best. We are excited to be contemplating our next Running Clinic later in the summer. If you are interested in learning more or putting your name on the wait list, drop us a line at register@checkhimout.ca
If you would like to jump straight into the Frontrunners group on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings (the good thing is they always end up somewhere where you can get coffee and a bite to eat!), check out their site by clicking here.
Watch this space for more HIM introductory programs with Vancouver’s LGBT soccer group ‘Out For Kicks’ and LGBT rock climbing group ‘Routs and Fruits’ – coming soon.
If you have any questions or suggestions about these introductory ‘clinic’ please don’t hesitate to email me or call me on 604 488 1001 ext 224.
