Learning to Love Female Condoms

Posted by HIM on Tuesday January 31st, 2012

The female condom doesn't sound very sexy.  The name alone conjures up images of plastic shopping bags and vaginas, which for many gay guys, aren't very sexy.  It's unfortunate too because some gay guys might really appreciate this as an alternative to condoms, even if you're not a power bottom.

Female Condoms (FC) can be placed ahead of time so you won't have to interrupt foreplay.  They can even be placed before you go out for the night.  This opens up the possibilities a little bit for guys who have a hard time staying hard while putting condoms on.  FCs are non-latex so they won't cause reactions for guys with latex allergies.  Most importantly FCs prevent the transmission of some STIs.

But this is no ordinary condom and requires a bit of practice, so grab a partner and try it out to see what works for you!  Xtra did their own review of FCs stressing the importance of experimenting with FC to see what works best.

In the meantime here are a few helpful hints that gay guys can use to get the most out of their FC experience:

  • The inner ring is optional so see what feels the best for you
  • If the outer ring slips inside the guy's ass, take out the FC and use a fresh one
  • Do not use FC with other condoms as it'll increase the likelihood of breakage
  • When you're done, twist the outer ring to keep the cum inside
  • As always, use plenty of lube

If you want a fun demonstration on how to use an FC check out this video (NSFW).

That being said, gay guys may never embrace them the way we did for Abercrombie and Fitch or Kathy Griffen.
