It's more than the gym. Whether you're taking your first yoga class, choosing healthier foods or deciding to quit smoking, physical health is an important part of gay men's lives. This section provides resources, articles and information about how you can live a longer, healthier life. We also have listings for our Professional Volunteers who specialize in physical health.

HIM’s Summer Fitness groups culminated last Sunday with some of the guys doing the Grouse Grind together. This year HIM ran three levels of fitness group from June to the end of August and attracted over 25 guys who attended outdoor sessions that were held on every night of the week (Mon to Thurs and many people enjoyed a good stretch on Fridays at our Yoga sessions).
As one of the guys said:
“I think that these health programs by donation are phenomenal, not just for any community, but especially for ours. Encouraging gay men to be health conscious not only increases self esteem, awareness of sexual safety, to be a part of a loving community, and obvious physical benefits, but so much more with consciousness to financial and economic restriction”.
HIM takes an holistic approach to gay men’s health and we focus on the areas of Mental, Physical, Sexual and Social Health. Keep an eye on our web site for more physical fitness groups coming up and sign up for our monthly news letter that will give you all the latest goings-on at HIM
