It's more than the gym. Whether you're taking your first yoga class, choosing healthier foods or deciding to quit smoking, physical health is an important part of gay men's lives. This section provides resources, articles and information about how you can live a longer, healthier life. We also have listings for our Professional Volunteers who specialize in physical health.

What you eat is just as important as when you eat and many guys have a hard time swallowing that. All the old adages about the importance of breakfast or benefits of eating an apple a day have at least some truth to them. Yet for many guys the messages are lost in favour of convenient meals or dieting trends.
Want more information about what you eating - or better yet what you should be eating - then check out U R What U Eat!
This 2-part interactive workshop will answer all those confusing questions about when is the best time and what to eat for a healthy, balanced life. Bring all your nutritional questions to our nutritional expert, Gerry Kaston (Spectrum health), who will de-mystify your bad eating habits and we’ll get you to the bottom of your eating conundrum. Gerry's master's thesis was on how gay men choose foods!
The first workshop will be an informational based Q&A where our expert will share his nutritional knowledge. Workshop two will be held in The YMCA (Burrard St) kitchen space where Gerry will demonstrate healthy, quick & easy meal preparation techniques.
WHEN:
September 30th and November 25th from 7pm to 9pm
WHERE:
Sept 30 at the HIM Office
Nov 25th YMCA Kitchen - 5th floor, 955 Burrard St
