Naloxone Training: Be Prepared with HIM
In response to the growing overdose crisis in the Lower Mainland, HIM is providing naloxone training. Naloxone is a medication that quickly reverses the effects of an overdose from opioids such as heroin, methadone, fentanyl, and morphine. It is currently available in B.C. without prescription, and often given as an injection into a muscle.
The Take Home Naloxone (THN) program provides life-saving training and kits to people at risk of an opioid overdose, their friends and family, and community members.
THN sites teach people how to use their kits to respond to an overdose, and provide education in saving a life endangered by an opioid overdose. Kits will be provided after completion of training.
