HIM’s mission is to strengthen the health and wellbeing of many communities including trans and non-binary people. HIM offers wide-ranging services, programs and resources to gender diverse people across BC:

 

Self Advocacy at HIM

HIM health centers serve all genders; no one is turned away. It doesn’t matter what name or sex marker is on your ID, the medical team at HIM should use the name and pronouns you use for yourself. Click here to read and download HIM Self-Advocacy Resource for Gender Diverse People.

Sexual Health Services

From STI/HIV testing and treatment, vaccinations, access to PrEP and PEP, to access to harm reduction supplies and services, HIM is here to support your sexual health. Click here find out more about the sexual health services that HIM offers.

Mental Health Supports

At HIM we want to make it easy and accessible for all gender diverse people to explore the mental, emotional, cultural, social and spiritual aspects of their lives. Harm Reduction

“Harm reduction” refers to a wide range of practices, programs, and public policies that reduce harms associated with substance use and substance use stigma, which includes supervised consumption sites, housing-first policies, drug checking, needle exchange, decolonization, and so on. HIM honours the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and the territories of many nations on the west coast of Turtle Island, on whose unceded and stolen land we live and work. As uninvited inhabitants, we acknowledge that this space is and always will be Indigenous land.
