Black, Indigenous, Asian, newcomer and migrant sex workers are disproportionately policed, surveilled, and violently harmed under policies, laws, and legal systems that purport to only criminalize the so-called demand, or purchase of sex work. Through collective discussion and KYR workshops with organizers, activists, researchers, and sex work advocates, we will discuss the impacts of sex work criminalization, and create tools for addressing racialized and gender-based oppression, as a fundamental feature of asserting and advancing the health, safety and human rights of sex workers.
