About Neighbours with HIM
Neighbours with HIM is a collaborative partnership withlocal organizations and businesses operating within the same neighbourhood as a HIM Health Centre or PLUS! Program. Our neighbours are interested in supporting the health and wellbeing of the local GBQ men and gender diverse people who live, work, or play in the neighbourhood. As part of this framework, Neighbours provide support within their space to help amplify important health and community messages from HIM.
Neighbours with HIM acknowledges that the businesses and organizations who are collaborating are located on unceeded/stole territory.
Support a Good Cause
HIM’s programs and services positively impact the lives and health of over 8,000+ GBQ men and gender diverse people each year. By supporting HIM’s mission, you’ll be investing in the health and wellbeing of these communities in your local neighbourhood.
Engage and Delight Your Customers
Whether by displaying HIM health information materials in your space, supporting our fundraising activities, or by surprising your staff and customers with seasonal HIM-branded swag and merchandise. Show the neighbourly side of your business and engage your customers in a good cause.

The Ways Your Business Can Show Support as a Neighbour:
Print Materials
Displaying HIM information/material in designated spots within your space (bulletin boards etc.) is a great way to show support and raise awareness about important health information within the community.
Donation Boxes
Hosting a HIM donation box where your customers/clients can make cash donations is a fabulous way to show your support and engage your customers as well as your staff.
Sales Proceeds
Donating (partial/full) proceeds from the sale of one of your products can be a creative way to delight your customers and fundraise to support HIM’s mission.
Harm Reduction Supplies
Providing space for Harm Reduction supplies (condom packs, safer use supplies etc.) in your space can be a powerful way to make the community safer.
Events
Hosting HIM events and community activities in your space, or providing in-kind donation (food, supplies, swag…etc) for HIM events and meetings can be a great way to associate your name and brand with the social connectedness HIM works hard to create.
Merchandise
Selling HIM merchandise or giving away HIM-branded swag at your store can be a great way to engage your existing customers and perhaps attract new ones from the community.
Meet Our Neighbours in the Davie Village
The Davie Village is a histotically queer community in the heart of downtown Vancouver. When we at HIM were looking for locations to open our flagship HIM Health Centre in 2009, the Davie Village was the obvious choice. Since then, we have cultivated wonderful relationships and friendships with our neighbours on and around Davie street:
The PumpJack Pub has been welcoming the vibrant Davie Village community since December 2000. Throughout the years they’ve evolved with the times to become one of Davie Streets favorite hangout spots, while remaining steadfast to their roots. As a community bar, they support all forms of queer identities and lifestyles.
The Pumpjack Pub has long supported HIM’s mission in many ways. Pumpjack is one of 6 businesses and bars that have HIM condom dispensers in their space. They also provide space for HIM to post print materials for various health promotions and have generously hosted HIM events and group meetings through the years.
In 2023, Pumpjack collaborated with HIM on a pioneering project (“the Potty Buddies” where art installations inside the bathroom stalls at Pumpjack are used to create space for health promotion which is now seen by hundreds of people every day.

Founded in 1983, Little Sister’s Book & Art Emporium has always been an integral part of queer Vancouver. Originally co-founded by Bruce Smyth and Jim Deva the storefront overcame many obstacles in the form of censorship, hate crimes and more. Currently managed by Don Wilson, Little Sister’s offers a wide selection of queer reads for all ages, vital coming-out info, sexy advice & hot erotica for all. Little Sister’s remains a staple for queer representation in Vancouver.
Little Sister’s has long supported HIM’s mission as a neighbour and a beacon in the queer community. They’ve hosted print materials for various HIM health promotions, and they’ve donated fabulous products for HIM’s volunteer appreciations. We’re proud to call Little Sister’s a neighbour.
The Junction Pub is Vancouver’s premier Queer entertainment destination, located in the heart of the Davie Village, and their versatile atmosphere seamlessly blends the welcoming elements of a community pub, and the late-night entertainment of a night club.
The Junction Pub has long supported HIM’s mission in many ways. Junction is one of 6 businesses and bars that have HIM condom dispensers in their space. They also provide space for HIM to post print materials for various health promotions and have generously hosted HIM events and group meetings through the years.

1181 Club on Davie Street is a prominent queer space where community members can meet, dance and attend live shows from local queer drag performers.
1181 club support HIM’s mission by hosting a HIM condom dispenser for safer sex supplies and well as providing space for print HIM materials which point clients to resources and services available for the community at HIM.
One of Vancouver’s prominent queer establishments, the Fountainhead Pub is offers members of the community with the space to dine, meet, and connect in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
The Fountainhead Pub is one of 6 businesses and bars that have HIM condom dispensers in their space where community members can access safer sex supplies. Fountainhead also provides space for HIM to post print materials for various health promotions.

F212 Steam boasts Vancouver’s largest and sexiest hot tub, a fully equipped gym, wet steam room, private rooms, darkrooms with play areas, public video rooms for open play, cruiser showers, coffee bar, free Wi-Fi, and computer access in the Lavender Lounge with big-screen TV offering thousands of viewing choices on our Roku TV.
F212 Steam is a supporter of HIM’s mission. Throughout their space, you’ll find resources for safer sex, print materials with information about HIM and various HIM promotions.
STEAMWORKS Baths Vancouver is a private men’s gym, sauna, and bathhouse for gay men. STEAMWORKS Vancouver has been around since 2009 and is an important space for gay/bi/trans men to not socialize, cruise, hook up, but also a place where they can see a Nurse onsite and access various health services and information.
STEAMWORKS Vancouver supports HIM’s mission in various ways, including hosting HIM condom dispensers, on-site nursing staff, print materials for health promotions and services, as well as helping to foster, and strengthen, positive health and well-being for our members.
Topdrawers is a premium men’s underwear, swimwear and activewear store located in downtown Vancouver, serving customers since 1992 and online since 1998. With a focus on providing a curated selection of high-quality brands at reasonable, competitive prices, their staff ensures a relaxed and welcoming shopping experience for all customers.
Their commitment to the community is evident through their support of HIM’s work over the years by donating branded products and goods for volunteer events
Located in the heart of the Davie Village, Davie Pharmacy provides the community with personalized services through their knowledgeable pharmacists and welcomes all identities and treats everyone with dignity and respect.
Davie Pharmacy has long been a neighbour and a supporter of HIM’s mission. They support our various health promotions by providing space for HIM print materials (posters, flyers, cards). They also frequently donate lovely, branded items as gifts for HIM volunteers.
