Pride in our Fight: Queers Ending Overdose

In BC, toxic drug overdose is the leading cause of death for people aged 19–59 and yet, the response from institutions remains heartbreakingly inadequate. Sound familiar? For many of us, it echoes the silence and inaction around the HIV/AIDS crisis that devastated our community just a few decades ago.

This interactive session invites queer folks to gather, reflect, and reconnect with our shared resilience, the beauty of who we are, to remember what we’ve survived, and to channel that legacy into action. Let’s celebrate Pride not just with glitter and dance floors, but by reigniting our power as change-makers. Our history is full of defiance, compassion, and collective care and that energy is exactly what this moment needs.
