From discussion groups, to live drawing, we know that being social is an important part of how we stay healthy. Wherever you stand, from introvert to extrovert, HIM has a wide array of programming that meet your social health needs.
We’re working on getting back to in-person events, but we also have a wide array of free online events where you can keep up with community, and make new friends!

HIM Community Connectors
HIM is excited to announce the launch of the Interior Community Connectors. The HIM Commnity Connectors are a team of self-identified GBQ (gay, bisexual, and queer) and gender diverse people across the Interior of BC that work together and in community online and in -person outreach program. HIM Community Connectors work together to locate health care and community resources within their own regions, with a priority on HIV and STI testing, supporting people living with HIV to have access to good health care and community resources, as well as providing information and access to harm reduction supplies.
In recognition of their labour and community insights, HIM Community Connectors receive honorariums as part of HIM’s Volunteer Program.
Who we are looking for:
A Connector is someone who:
- Identify as Two Spirit, GBQ and/or gender diverse
- Wants to contribute to building community within their home community

Volunteer with HIM!
Volunteering is a great way to give back to our communities, but also a great way to build community and lasting relationships.
As a volunteer, you get to share your time and talents with a progressive, evidence-based, enthusiastic organization. You’ll make new friends, learn new skills, and most of all, feel good about being directly involved in boosting the health of your peers. If you have a passion for your community, please consider helping us engage with it.
