Mental Health Supports
Mental health refers to your psychological and emotional well-being. Mental health can be affected by many factors in your daily life, including work-life balance, physical health your relationships and so much more! Maybe you are familiar with feelings of depression, anxiety, addiction and stress, or these feelings and experiences might be new to you; either way, HIM is here for you.
At HIM we want to make it easy and accessible for GBQ men and gender diverse people to explore the mental, emotional, cultural, social and spiritual aspects of their lives. It is our hope to create a community where taking care of these parts of yourself is as important as your sexual and physical health; without shame or stigma. HIM offers a suite of programs and resources designed to support your mental health:
Counselling Services
We offer professional counselling (at no-cost, or reduced fee) for GBQ men and gender diverse people in the Lower Mainland and the Interior of British Columbia. Our counselling sessions help you work through problems, challenges, and changes in a confidential setting. Our counsellors have worked with men like you to tackle substance use problems, coming out, racism, body image, aging, sex, and more. Click here to find out more about counselling at HIM.
Mental Health Groups

PnP & Me
PnP & Me is program designed to support gay, bi, queer men, and gender diverse people who use meth in achieving health goals related to sexualized substance use (party and play). After an intake appointment, participants also have access to other supports like a peer-led drop-in program, individual counselling, and referrals to services outside of HIM that are tailored to their specific needs and health goals.
PnP & Me is a harm reduction-based program, which means that abstinence is not a requirement. Click here to learn more about the program.
