HIM is a nonprofit society that aims to strengthen the health and well-being in communities of self-identified GBQ men and gender diverse people in BC.
Joining Hands and Minds to Support Our Communities’ Health
We collaborate with community-based organizations and community and thought-leaders who help us inform, develop, and deliver our programs to the communities and populations we serve. Our program partners play an essential role in ensuring that our programs meet community needs and are consistently delivered as our organization and work evolve through time.

Research Partnerships
HIM takes part in research projects that benefit our communities. These projects gather data on the unique needs of our communities that help inform our workand helps us demonstrate the importance and impact of custom tailoured, evidence-based programs and interventions.
Most often, HIM contributes to research by hosting, promoting, and supporting researchers or research teams in two main ways: (1) HIM regularly contributes as a recruitment site, and (2) we share our community expertise to ensure that research projects are conducted in a way that is respectful of and beneficial to our communities.
It’s important to us that we are accountable to the communities who are asked to contribute to research projects. We also want our communities and research partners to see the impact of these research project by sharing findings, reports, events, and other products that come out of the research projects on which we collaborate.
