How You Can Access Sexual Health Services at HIM

HIM health centres in the Lower Mainland as well as our outreach nurses and anonymous testing events in the BC Interior provide GBQ men and gender diverse people with HIV/STI prevention and treatment services:

HIM offers full-spectrum sexual health testing: Rapid and Standard HIV as well as STI testing. We offer standard testing for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, Hepatitis A, B and C.

Accessing HIV/STI Testing Services

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is an HIV prevention strategy we can use if we are HIV-negative. Doctors and nurses at HIM can help you access to PrEP.

Accessing PrEP – Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis

PEP is an option to prevent HIV after you may have come into contact with HIV during sex. When taken correctly, PEP is highly effective at preventing HIV transmission.

Accessing PEP – Post-Exposure Prophylaxis

If you have tested positive for a treatable STI or are experiencing symptoms of an STI infection, HIM nurses could give you the needed treatment.

At our HIM Health Centres, we offer vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and Mpox.

Doxy, short for Doxycycline, is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as chlamydia and syphilis.
