Downtown Vancouver Life in colour
Life In Colour is a space for men-of-colour to come together in a respectful, safer, private and non-judgmental environment. This space is created by men-of-colour for men-of-colour to come together and share common struggles, interests, desires and to support each other and grow together. This exclusive (POC only), confidential space will be a mix of fun social activities, snacks, sharing past experiences as well as exploring and expanding on how our identities relate to “gay men’s health.”
We’re offering this safe space without judgement or shame, and encourage guys from all walks of life and variety of life experiences to attend. This facilitated group respects everyone’s lifestyle choices and understands there are struggles with being of colour in a queer community, and know that being “queer” or “out” looks different for everyone.
This group is open black, indigenous, Asian, mixed-race, and people of colour who identify as men (trans, cis, and other men, and inclusive of two-spirit and non-binary folks) who also identify as gay, bi, queer, asexual, curious, and/or as guys who are into/or having sex with guys (for any reason – including for work). You are welcome whether or not you are “out.”
To accommodate a variety of schedules and locations, this group will be held once a week, but with rotating locations in New West, Surrey and Vancouver downtown. Participants can attend all or as many sessions as they want.
- Surrey: Every 2nd Wednesday, June 5 – August 28
- New West: Every 2nd Wednesday, June 12 – August 21
- Vancouver: Every 4th Thursday, June 27, July 25 and August 22
Out of respect for the privacy of participants, specific locations will be shared upon registration in advance.
