Death Cafe

A place to gather and talk about everything mortality, death and dying. Community members gather to talk about everything from our own mortality and time on earth, to our experiences with death, ideas around death, what we want for ourselves or our community, and so much more! Prompts will be given but the only theme is death and dying. This event is geared towards those who are open to talking and engaging around the topic. This is not a grief and support group, but we may touch on the subject of grief at times.

Facilitators Bio:
Aryelle is a queer Registered Social Worker and Death Doula on the DTES of Vancouver, working in the opioid crisis for the past 5 years.

Lukas is a community counsellor and group facilitator, working in front-line mental health for several decades

This event is open to the LGBT2SQ+ community (for this specific engagement we are including beyond our scope of GBQ/GD folks) – Death Cafes are aimed towards a very broad audience that includes all ages, experiences, identities

“This event is geared towards those who are open to talking and engaging around the topic.”

This group is open to self-identified men (trans, cis, and other men), two-spirit and non-binary folks who also identify as gay, bi, queer, asexual, and/or as guys who are into/or have sex with guys (for any reason – including for work).
